About Hillcrest Centre

Located centrally in Vancouver, Hillcrest Community Centre is a vibrant community facility known for its versatile amenities and welcoming atmosphere, just don’t forget to wrap up warm! It will host the Wheelchair Curling events for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. The Centre’s connection to the 2010 Winter Olympics adds to its legacy as a world-class sporting venue. 

Fun Fact: Hillcrest Community Centre was originally built for the Vancouver Olympic/Paralympics and hosted curling events during the 2010 Winter Olympics! 

Celebrate the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 and give curling a try! Van Curl is offering a one-hour session including an instructor and all required equipment—grippers, wheelchairs, and delivery stick. Learn more on Van Curl’s website.

What’s Happening Here?

On February 9th, 2025, Hillcrest Centre will be the stage for Wheelchair Curling competitions, showcasing incredible skill and precision from competitors. 

Event Highlights:

Adaptive Wheelchair Curling event featuring competitors from 23 Nations and some unconquered teams.

Medal ceremonies that honor the grit and determination of competitors. 

Location and Directions

Public Transit:

  • Take the Canada Line SkyTrain to King Edward Station, then transfer to the #15 Cambie bus heading south. Hillcrest Centre is a short walk from the Cambie & 29th Avenue stop. 

Driving & Parking:

  • Limited parking is available onsite; additional parking can be found at nearby lots. Public transit or carpooling is recommended. 

Facilities & Amenities

  • Restrooms: Fully accessible restrooms are available throughout the venue.
  • Food & Beverage: Enjoy snacks and refreshments from onsite vendors outside the curling shed.
  • First Aid: First aid stations are located within the venue for any medical assistance.

Venue Guidelines

  • Security screening is required upon entry.
  • Outside food, professional cameras, and large banners are not allowed.
  • Smoking and vaping are prohibited on the premises.

Frequently Asked Questions

Arrive at least 30 minutes before the event to complete security screening and find your seat. 

You may leave the venue and re-enter, however you must ensure your ticket is scanned upon exiting the venue 

Outside food and drinks are not allowed within the curling shed, you are able to purchase food from the Blue Parrot Café within the community center
